I am very excited to announce that this painting will be part of the 19th annual Works of Heart Art Auction Against AIDS. The proceeds from the sales go to the Alliance of AIDS Services Carolina.

Marla, you did a wonderful job on this. The values of the receding planes are excellent, as are those of the dappled light in the trees. Really nice.

As the person who purchased this painting at the Works of Heart this year, I wanted to tell you that it is a lovely piece and I was excited to be able to add it to my collection. You did a wonderful job on creating a painting that takes you somewhere but still makes you feel relaxed and at home. It is a very enjoyable piece. Great Job and keep up the creative work, it is much appreciated! Patty

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad to know someone purchased this painting who really likes it; I certainly enjoyed painting it. I'm currently working on some smaller and vertical-format versions of the same scene - or actually, a few feet to the left of this particular view.
