Marla, Fantastic video. Love your technique and that killer tip about putting your palette under water!! Why didn't I think of that?
ReplyDeleteThe painting is charming...love it!
Marla, I loved watching your demo! Your process is great! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteExcellent Demo!!!! So enjoyed watching this painting magically appearing.
ReplyDeleteAwesome demo! You make it look so easy!
ReplyDeleteExcellent video, Marla! I've never thought about putting palette under water… what an amazing tip! Sorry I couldn't join in this month. Thank you for taking the time to organize this carnival.
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe - WOW. Wonderful demo. so do you pull the palette out of the water and go again?
ReplyDeleteJust got back from seeing all the demos --- great idea and quite enjoyable. Learned a lot and just loved "watching other artists." thanks for all the work in making this happen, especially during this busy season. All the artists were great.
ReplyDeleteDo you have to let the water dry off the palette before you can use it again?
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your comments!
ReplyDeleteI had a lot of questions about putting the palette under water. Because it's oil paint, the water doesn't affect it or dilute it, just seals it off from the air, so it doesn't dry out. When I'm ready to paint again, I lift the palette out and tilt it over the tray to let the water run off. If there's a puddle anywhere I blot it with paper towel.
